Lindsey Graham slams repeated ‘Hitler crap’ comparisons to Trump – Washington Examiner

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) rebuked the “crap” comparisons some continue to make between former President Donald Trump and Adolf Hitler.

Former White House chief of staff John Kelly claimed in new remarks that Trump once said Hitler “did some good things,” adding that the former president “certainly falls into the general definition of fascist.” Graham, who is backing Trump in his 2024 presidential bid, argued Kelly is entitled to his opinion, but that he is “dead wrong” with his claims.

“I’m tired of the Hitler crap when it comes to Trump,” Graham said on Fox News’s The Story with Martha MacCallum. “The one and only Jewish state on the planet is Israel. Nobody’s more popular in Israel than Donald Trump. He recognized Jerusalem as a legitimate capital of the state of Israel. He recognized the Golan Heights as part of Israel. There’s been no better friend to the Jewish state. Hitler wanted to kill all the Jews, and Donald Trump is the best friend of the Jewish state. When President Trump was in office, we didn’t invade other countries, we didn’t try to destroy people, we didn’t create concentration camps, we had the strongest military, and we had no wars.”

Graham continued that “the world was at peace” during Trump’s presidency and that Israel was achieving peace. He concluded that Trump’s record has been “lost” with Kelly and those speaking out against the former president, adding that they “don’t know what you’re talking about.”

On Wednesday, Trump made another call for Muslim voters not to support Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential bid, citing how Harris is backed by “Muslim-hating Liz Cheney.” The former president previously claimed that Cheney “wants to go to war with every Muslim Country known to mankind,” and that Harris would bring about a third world war.

During Graham’s discussion, the South Carolina senator also addressed the news that at least 3,000 North Korean soldiers traveled to eastern Russia for training earlier this month. Graham contended this is “another sign” of the rising danger the world has seen under President Joe Biden’s leadership.

“There’s no deterrence. Deterrence has been lost everywhere, so North Korea feels comfortable joining Russia trying to destroy Ukraine,” Graham said. “It’s all you need to know about lack of deterrence. When Trump, this is going to come to end pretty quickly.”

Polling data released Monday, conducted among 5,000 registered voters, found that Trump and Harris were in a dead heat at 47% among all respondents. Among likely voters, Harris had a 1% advantage over the former president.
