Luigi Mangioni Story Gets Stage Musical Spotlight

A portrayal of alleged UnitedHealthcare CEO assassin Luigi Mangioni will take the spotlight in an on-stage musical in New York City.

“Luigi: The Musical” will premiere June 15 at The Green Room 42 in Midtown West, just a 20-minute subway ride away from where Mangione allegedly shot and killed Brian Thompson in December 2024.

The musical is marketed as being “part comedy, part social commentary,” and the creators promise the production “doesn’t glorify violence, it interrogates it.”

The synopsis on the official website for the upcoming musical says, “The show takes aim at a culture where brutality is both entertainment and spectacle, inviting audiences to laugh while also asking why we’re so quick to tune in when someone gets hurt.”

“Through sharp satire and irreverent humor, Luigi: the Musical uses comedy as a tool to expose just how normalized, and profitable, violence has become, challenging viewers to reckon with their own responses along the way,” the website continues.  (RELATED: Alleged Assassination Video Shown In Court As Luigi Mangione’s Pretrial Hearing Kicks Off)

The show will portray Mangione’s life behind bars while he’s trial for murder, and it will include a nod to Mangione’s famous jailhouse companions, convicted fraudster Sam Bankman-Fried and Sean “Diddy” Combs at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center.

Mangione faces life in prison if convicted of fatally shooting Thompson. He has pleaded not guilty.
