Mace stresses need for Hunter Biden deposition: ‘I want to know where all the bodies are buried’

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) rejected Hunter Biden‘s offer to testify before Congress in a public hearing, arguing the first son should sit for a closed-door deposition before the House Oversight Committee.
Mace, who sits on the committee, said she wants to “see where the bodies are buried” with regard to the Biden family’s business dealings when speaking on Fox Business’s Mornings with Maria on Wednesday.

“Hunter Biden should not get special treatment at all, but the biggest difference is when we have these public hearings, on the House Oversight Committee or the Judiciary Committee, members of Congress only get five minutes a turn, that’s it. When you sit for a deposition, there are attorneys involved, members are involved, staff are involved, you sit in for hours, it could go all day,” she said.
“You get a lot more information that you then can bring out during a public hearing, but he shouldn’t be treated differently than anyone else. And let’s face the facts, [Donald Trump Jr.] sat for not one, but two depositions before Congress. So Hunter Biden, what are you so afraid of?” she added.
Mace also said that the House Oversight Committee would likely need multiple depositions with Hunter Biden because “there’s so much money” involved in their investigation.
“I want to know where all the bodies are buried. I wanna know how these companies were created and layered, where the money was, from China and how it got to [the] U.S., how it got to different Biden family members. Where was Joe Biden? How was he involved? What kind of bribery? The WhatsApp messages, the emails, the text messages. We’ll be able to verify his accounting of all of that,” Mace said.

“Quite frankly, I think he needs to sit for more than one deposition; there’s so much money that was involved here. It’s incredible, but we’ve got to do [the] first step, which is a deposition,” she added.
Hunter Biden’s attorney said his client would be willing to testify in a public hearing in response to a subpoena sent to him. Comer, the chairman of the Oversight Committee, accused the younger Biden of “playing by his own rules” and said he will not be able to evade a closed-door deposition with the committee.
