Major Trans Medical Association Scrubs Guidelines From Website After Criticism Over Child Sex Changes

The World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) on Tuesday appeared to have removed the latest version of its transgender medical guidelines from its website.

The organization released its Standards of Care Version 8 (SOC 8) on September 15, 2022, updating its previous version to recommend that gender dysphoria no longer be considered a mental illness, hormones are no longer discouraged for minors under the age of 16 and that doctors need not necessarily perform a mental health screening before administering transgender therapy. As of Tuesday, however, the SOC 8 is no longer on the website, but the 7th version can still be accessed. It’s unclear why the guidelines no longer appear on the organization’s website.

Marci Bowers, president of WPATH, called the new standards “the most comprehensive set of guidelines ever produced to assist health care professionals around the world in support of transgender and gender diverse adults, adolescents, and children who are taking steps to live their lives authentically” in a press release.

“Health care is a human right. All trans-identified people on this planet deserve the same opportunity to be their true selves and have access to the medically necessary affirming care that allows them to do just that,” Bowers wrote. “The field of transgender medicine is evolving rapidly, responsive foremost to the needs of patients and their families and guided by objectivity, compassion, and consensus. We are thrilled to provide this vital resource to support transgender and gender-diverse people worldwide.”

It appears that the iceberg has been struck and WPATH is now taking on water. I can’t stress enough- in the US it’s all built on WPATH (endocrine, AAP). @LGBT_Courage has a life boat but the time is now.

WPATH’s website also no longer lists Bowers as president of the organization, and instead notes Dr. Ving Tangpricha as the sitting president.

The Daily Caller News Foundation has published several investigative reports on WPATH’s close-door conferences. One doctor said during a training session that he transitions children as young as three years old, while another doctor claimed that parents who don’t affirm their child’s gender dysphoria have a “mental illness.”

WPATH did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundations’ request for comment.
