Mark Ruffalo bashes Donald Trump as a ‘fraud’ and ‘scam artist’

Actor Mark Ruffalo gloated over the ruling that found former President Donald Trump committed fraud for several years while growing the Trump Organization.

New York State Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron ruled Tuesday in a civil suit brought by Attorney General Letitia James that she had proved one of her several fraud claims without a trial. As a result, the business certificate filed by Trump, his sons Eric and Donald Trump Jr., former Chief Financial Officer Allen Weisselberg, and company controller Jeffery McConney must be canceled.

“Another reminder that this man, in totality, is a fraud,” Ruffalo wrote of Trump on X, formerly known as Twitter, including a link to an article about the ruling. “He is a scam artist. He steals from the public, his workers who have not been paid, the students of his ‘university,’ his lawyers, his associates and business partners, and now his followers in donations that he pockets.”

Trump is currently campaigning for the Republican nomination for president for a second term. Ruffalo seemingly wrote the post to discourage supporters of his campaign.

“If you have any sense at all you will beware Donald Trump,” Ruffalo wrote. “You mean only to him, what he can take you for.”

Campaign records show Trump received $53 million in contributions between the start of 2023 and August. According to a number of polls, the former president remains the front-runner in the race. He responded to that ruling on his social media platform, Truth Social.

“The widespread, radical attack against me, my family, and my supporters has now devolved to new, un-American depths, at the hands of a DERANGED New York State Judge, doing the bidding of a completely biased and corrupt ‘Prosecutor,’ Letitia James, who ran for office based on a ‘GET TRUMP’ platform, before even knowing anything about me,” he wrote.

Trump is facing off against former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, former governor of New Jersey Chris Christie, former Texas representative Will Hurd, former Vice President Mike Pence, Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), Gov. Doug Burgum (R-ND), Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, political commentator Larry Elder, businessman Perry Johnson, and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy in the race to win the GOP presidential nomination.
