The mother of a high school student allegedly found out during a Valentine’s Day weekend trip that their family friend, a former teacher and administrator at her son’s high school, had been sleeping with him, according to an arrest warrant.
Over the weekend of Feb. 13 to 15, Jenni Antonio-Alvarado took a trip with her family to a cabin in Helen, Georgia. The family was allegedly accompanied by Amanda Katz, 55, a former teacher at Roswell High School who Antonio-Alvardao’s son claims instructed him during his sophomore year. Katz later became an administrative assistant. An arrest warrant states that Katz went on the trip because Antonio-Alvarado considered her “a friend of the family.”
Antonio-Alvarado alleged that during the trip, she saw her son and Katz acting very “comfortable” around each other. This compelled Antonio-Alvaredo to look through her son’s cell phone in the early morning hours. On his phone, she allegedly found evidence that Katz was in a romantic relationship with her son. After discovering this, Antonio-Alvarado woke up her family, left Katz at the cabin alone and took her son’s phone from him.
According to the warrant, the son admitted that he and Katz had sex multiple times.
The warrant details that after Antonio-Alvarado discovered the alleged illicit relationship between Katz and her son, Katz allegedly returned to Roswell High School in a “distraught” state. When fellow school employees asked her what was wrong, Katz expressed grief that she couldn’t see her “boyfriend” anymore because his mother disapproved, according to the warrant. After the Fulton County School District became aware of Katz’s alleged relationship, she was placed on administrative leave and ultimately resigned from her job.
In an X post, the Roswell Police Department announced that Katz had been arrested and charged for improper sexual contact by an employee or agent.

The warrant includes text messages in which Katz and the son talk about their relationship, their future life together, previous and hypothetical sexual interactions, and how to keep their relationship a secret. A Dec. 29 text exchange indicates that Katz was already convinced that Antonio-Alvarado knew about her alleged relationship with her son. “But she knows. Your sister knows. You know they do. The more we are together, the more obvious it is,” it read. Katz then allegedly said that she needed to “leave Roswell” and asked the son to “delete this entire thread.”
A day later, Katz allegedly texted the son expressing grief about them “lying to everyone” and asked how long it would have to go on. She also allegedly said how much she didn’t want to go to jail. “I don’t want to go to jail……. I won’t do well in jail…….. I’m too pretty…….. I don’t want to f**k women,” it allegedly read.
A day after Antonio-Alvarado discovered the alleged nature of Katz’s relationship with her son, Katz sent the son a series of profanity-laced messages blaming him for abandoning her. “I loved you. And this is the most f***ed up thing that has ever happened to me,” she wrote. In another message she allegedly blamed the son for assuring her that his mother wouldn’t come between them, accusing him of lying and using her. “You knew deep down what you did was wrong,” she texted him.
Katz’s last message to the son allegedly read, “Stop… I can’t do this… Please. Pleaseeee.”
