Muslims Surround Conservative Protesters Shouting

Video shows Jan. 6 defendant Jake Lang encircled by a crowd of Muslim men over alleged sharia law practices in Dearborn, Michigan, on Tuesday.

YouTuber Nick Shirley shared the clip on X showing one of the citywide clashes outside City Hall. Shirley said he would release the full footage in the coming days. (RELATED: Texas Gov. Greg Abbott Blocks Construction Of Proposed Muslim ‘City’)

“I believe they are going to cancel the 6:30 City Hall meeting because everybody is chimping the fuck out,” Lang tells Shirley as the crowd closes in around him.

As many in the crowd shout “Allahu Akbar,” Lang responds, “I don’t have bananas, chill out.”

“This is not America. This is an insurgency,” Lang yells over the shouting. “They are taking over our country. They want us all dead.”

Shirley said people were pushing as he and Lang tried to walk away from the crowd.

“This is Dearborn, Michigan — any racist is not welcome. No racist here,” one protester said to the camera. “If you can’t be peaceful, but every race is welcome. Two, three, our president is a pedophile.”

Local reporting from Fox 2 Detroit described the clash as between alt-right demonstrators who met to condemn Islam and a large group of peace-promoting Muslim activists. The outlet showed footage of demonstrations that frequently escalated into shouting matches and shoving across Dearborn.

“How are they coming to us and saying that we are all about division; we’re all about sharia law and everything? And every single corner you walk into, it’s a Christian block, a Christian mosque, or whatever it is,” one protester told the outlet, appearing to forget the word for church.

The clash was sparked by Republican Michigan gubernatorial candidate Anthony Hudson, who claimed sharia law was being practiced in Dearborn, according to CBS News Detroit. Hudson was set to expose his findings but instead met with Islamic leaders and had a change of heart, according to Fox 2.

“If we’re going to bring these people together, then we’re going to lead by example and come down here, put boots on the ground and walk with these people and show that we can come together,” Hudson told CBS Detroit.

CBS News Detroit reported that Lang had taunted the Muslim protesters with bacon and threatened to burn a Quran.

Dearborn has a history of high tensions between Muslims and non-Muslim residents. In September, the city’s Muslim mayor told a Christian “you are not welcome” in his city after the man objected to renaming an intersection in honor of a journalist who praised terrorist groups.

Dearborn-based civil rights activists complained in November that the media coverage of an FBI-foiled terrorist plot perpetuates bigotry toward the heavily Arab city. The FBI also said a teen allegedly involved in the plot was a follower of a Dearborn-based Islamist teacher.
