Nancy Mace blames Democrats for defending Biden family crimes: ‘They’re so full of it’

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) said Democrats were “full of it” for defending President Joe Biden’s family on Wednesday, ahead of Hunter Biden’s scheduled deposition in the impeachment inquiry into the president.

Mace claimed her Democratic colleagues were mincing words after Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) said the decision by House Republicans on the Oversight Committee to take out the words “open and transparent” in the impeachment inquiry resolution was “a rather suspicious omission.”

“Oh, they are just so full of it,” Mace told Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo. “They are mincing words. The word salad from the Left and their grave defense of Joe Biden’s corruption, bribery, money laundering, and wire fraud, all these things we are going to see unfold. It’s crazy because you have the media thinking this is a game, and the Left playing defense, and that is exactly what we are seeing unfolding.”

Mace’s comment came before Hunter Biden was scheduled to sit for a closed-door deposition in front of the oversight committee. However, the younger Biden appeared on Capitol Hill to make a statement outside of the Capitol but did not meet with the committee.

The president’s son has said he will testify in front of House Republicans in a public setting, but not behind closed doors. But a public testimony is much shorter than a deposition, Mace pointed out. In a public setting, committee members are only allowed five minutes to question an individual, whereas a deposition could take hours, and include hundreds of questions.

Hunter Biden’s decision not to comply with the subpoena could lead to a contempt vote by the GOP-led House on the same day it is expected to vote on authorizing its impeachment inquiry into the president.

The younger Biden refused to comply with the subpoena because of fear that Republicans would leak select portions of the testimony to the public. He has denied that his father was involved in his business dealings.

“Their lies have become the false facts believed by too many people,” Hunter Biden said, suggesting they fear his public testimony. “What are they afraid of? I’m here, I’m ready.”
