Nancy Mace hits Jayapal for 'excuses' regarding Hamas sexual violence against Israeli women

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) slammed her colleague Rep. Pramila Jayapal ‘s (D-WA) “excuses” regarding Hamas ‘s sexual violence against women in the Oct. 7 against Israel.

“I look at my colleagues in the House. Where are they?” Mace asked on Fox News Sunday. “Rep. Jayapal, her excuses last week, I mean, now we know that Hamas — their battle plan was to go in and systematically rape, mutilate, and murder these Israeli women.”

Mace recalled that she herself is a survivor of rape but stated that the difference was that she survived while many of the Israeli women did not.

“They were mutilated and murdered,” the congresswoman said. “I can’t think of anything more shameful to see these women’s groups, to see women on the left, women in the House — my colleagues on the left — who refuse to say what this is, which is shameful. It’s disgusting, It’s barbaric, and we ought to be condemning it from every corner of our country.”

The South Carolina congresswoman noted the expanding evidence of such attacks, explaining, “So many of us, we’ve seen videos of women who are naked and nude, and now we’re hearing all these stories of the evidence of witnesses that were collecting the bodies of these Israeli women, and I can’t think of anything more barbaric.”

In a recent CNN appearance, Jayapal, who is the chairwoman of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, appeared to compare Hamas ‘s alleged deployment of sexual violence against Israeli women to Israel ‘s response to the Oct. 7 attacks.

She later reiterated her comments, saying that while she condemned the terrorist organization’s use of rape and sexual violence, “many on all sides are feeling abandoned and unseen, and it is important to acknowledge all that pain.”
