Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom is leaving his safety net of coastal elites who love his vision for America’s future, embarking on one of the boldest rebranding efforts in recent Democratic politics.

Newsom seems to be using the book tour for his memoir “Young Man in a Hurry” as a way to jumpstart his inevitable 2028 presidential campaign. The strategy is to humanize his disastrous policies using personalized stories from his early life as a cover for his caricature as a slick, calculating, and detached politician from California.
