2024 presidential candidate Nikki Haley shared a photo of a birdcage left outside her hotel room from the “Trump Campaign,” appearing to be the latest mudslinging attempt from the former president.
Haley posted the cage and the accompanying bird feed bag on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, brushing off the incident as “pathetic.”

“After a day of campaigning, this is the message waiting for me outside my hotel room…#PrettyPatheticTryAgain #YouJustMadeMyCaseForMe,” Haley wrote Sunday.
The cage refers to a post that former President Donald Trump made on Friday, stating that Make America Great Again or “MAGA” supporters would never go for “Birdbrain Nikki Haley.”
“‘I will never run against our great President,’ she said, ‘he has done an outstanding job.’ To which I responded, ‘How nice of you to say, Nikki,’ knowing full well that her words mean nothing. She even came to Mar-a-Lago with her family, ‘bearing gifts.’ Anyway, Birdbrain doesn’t have the TALENT or TEMPERAMENT to do the job. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” Trump wrote.
The Washington Examiner reached out to the Trump campaign to verify whether the campaign is actually responsible for the bird cage or if it is a hoax.
Trump, who leads his opponents by double digits and boasts the support of more than half of likely Republican primary voters, has mostly limited his criticisms to Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), who initially showed donors the most promise in challenging him for the nomination.

However, as DeSantis struggles to reclaim support in the polls and Haley is on the upswing following two powerful debate performances, the former president appears to be switching targets.
Haley had welcomed the news that she is the latest recipient of Trump’s infamous mudslinging, saying, “Love this. It means we are in 2nd and moving up fast. Bring it!”
