Meghan McCain refused to settle an argument with Arizona Senate candidate Kari Lake, with the fight stemming from comments Lake made regarding McCain’s father.
McCain claimed Tuesday that Lake was attempting to “walk back” comments she made about the late John McCain in 2022 when she told “McCain Republicans” to “get the hell out” of a campaign event. In a recent interview, Lake brushed off the comment, saying that it had been made in jest and that the former senator probably would have laughed at the joke because he had “a great sense of humor.”
“Guess she realized she can’t become a Senator without us,” McCain wrote on X. “No peace, b****. We see you for who you are – and are repulsed by it.”

Lake responded to McCain’s X post with a post of her own, sharing that her father had also died from cancer and that she believes their fathers would do “everything they could to save this Republic” if they were still alive. She also offered McCain a chance to discuss their feud in person.
“I value your family and I value the passion you have for our state,” Lake wrote on X. “I’d love nothing more than to buy you a beer, a coffee or lunch and pick your brain about how we can work together to strengthen our state. My team is sending you my contact info — if you’re willing to meet, it would mean a lot to me.”

McCain resoundingly rejected the offer, this time in a post that said “NO PEACE, B****!”
Lake commented on her McCain statement during in an interview on the Outspoken with Bruce and Gaydos podcast, during which she discussed several other topics, including her claims that the 2022 Arizona gubernatorial election was stolen. Lake said she did not know “who exactly” stole the election but that she is focused on looking forward rather than on the past.

John McCain, the Republican presidential candidate in 2008, died from brain cancer at 81 in 2018.
