A woman driving in New York City claimed she crashed her car into a police officer “on purpose” in order to send him a message.
Sahara Dula, 24, was driving in the wrong direction, as captured in video footage. A NYPD officer approached the car from the front, waving his hands to get Dula’s attention. However, instead of stopping the car, Dula sped up and clipped the officer, which caused him to roll onto the car’s hood and tumble into the street.

“I told the cop I wanted to go straight, and he wouldn’t move, so I hit him. I did it on purpose,’’ Dula told officers, according to court documents. “F*** these cops! He wouldn’t move!’’
At the time, Dula was allegedly under the influence of marijuana. Officers were on the scene for an unrelated robbery and had closed a part of the street. Dula was stopped and arrested at the scene.
“F*** these cops, it’s a lesson to him, and hopefully he doesn’t want to be a cop anymore,” Dula said per a source to the New York Post.
This anonymous officer suffered a broken leg and bruising. As a result, Dula is facing charges of first-degree attempted assault, attempted aggravated assault upon a police officer, second-degree assault, second-degree reckless endangerment and operating a vehicle while ability impaired by drugs and reckless driving. NYPD’s union, the Police Benevolent Association, responded to the news with a statement from its president, Patrick Hendry.

“We’re glad that this individual is being kept in jail, but we don’t understand why she isn’t being charged with attempted murder,” Hendry said.
Dula is being held on a $25,000 bail.
