Obama and Biden reunite for healthcare enrollment push — and take a subtle dig at Trump

Barack Obama is back, at least for one day.
Obama and his former deputy, President Joe Biden, have teamed up for a healthcare-themed video that also takes a subtle dig at former President Donald Trump.
FIVE TIMES THE HUNTER BIDEN INFLUENCE PEDDLING STORY CHANGED
The clip is a YouTube short encouraging enrollment for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act, still popularly known as Obamacare.
Reading between the lines there are a few other messages thrown in as well.
“Is Obamacare still a thing?” Biden asks in the video. “Is it still a thing?”
“Yes,” Obama responds. “Obamacare, the Affordable Care Act, Bidencare, whatever you call it, yes, it is still a thing. The other side has been trying to repeal it every year since it has existed, but we’ll keep fighting to protect it.”
While the 44th president only mentions “the other side,” the clip comes weeks after Trump mused on social media about replacing Obamacare, which became law in 2010 and has been a Republican rallying cry ever since.
“The cost of Obamacare is out of control, plus, it’s not good Healthcare,” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Nov. 25. “I’m seriously looking at alternatives.”
Democrats have been harping on the remark ever since, with Biden mentioning in several speeches that Trump wants to “rip away health insurance for tens of millions of Americans.” The new video continues that message even while Trump insists he wants to create better health coverage rather than simply scrapping Obamacare.
Open enrollment for insurance under the ACA opened Nov. 1, and Friday is the last day to make changes for coverage that begins next year.
Even so, Biden, and potentially Obama, are likely to continue talking about the law on the campaign trail in 2024.

“Just go to healthcare.gov to learn more,” Obama says at the end of the short.
“Yeah, it’s still a BFD,” Biden adds.
