Olivia Rodrigo hands out Plan B pills to Missouri concertgoers – Washington Examiner

Pop musician Olivia Rodrigo offered free condoms and Plan B pills during her tour stop in St. Louis, Missouri, on Tuesday.

Packages with the pills and condoms with the phrase: “Funding abortion? It’s a good idea, right?” were free to those who stopped by tables selling merchandise. It also included a note with a phone number that promised to help find abortion care. The campaign is Rodrigo’s latest in her “Fund 4 Good” initiative that she launched when her latest “Guts” tour began.

This fund is “committed to building an equitable and just future for women and girls through direct support of community based non-profits that champion girls’ education, support reproductive rights and prevent gender-based violence,” according to the Entertainment Industry Foundation. Proceeds from ticket sales are already being funneled into it.

“For the North American GUTS world tour, Olivia will partner with local chapters of the National Network of Abortion Funds to ensure those most impacted by systemic racism, misogyny, and healthcare barriers can get the reproductive care they deserve,” the foundation explained.

Rodrigo, 21, is best known for her role in Disney’s High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. While the show ended after four seasons, it garnered a young audience for the musician when she launched her solo career. She also famously spoke at the White House in 2021 in an effort to encourage fans to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey filed a lawsuit against Planned Parenthood accusing it of transporting abortion clients out of the state, where the procedure is banned except in the case of a medical emergency. Since the organization is facing allegations of providing said transport without the consent of parents, Bailey argues that it constitutes trafficking.
