Police Arrest Two Teenagers In Case Eerily Similar To Savannah Guthrie

Two teenagers were arrested in connection with an alleged $66 million cryptocurrency home invasion plot that unfolded just two hours away from Nancy Guthrie’s home.

The California teens were arrested after a home invasion in Scottsdale, Arizona, that allegedly took place on the last day Nancy Guthrie was seen alive, according to Fox News Digital.

The teens allegedly posed as delivery drivers to gain access to the home and forced their way inside, duct-taping the two homeowners, the outlet reported. One of the victims denied having cryptocurrency during the alleged altercation.

An adult son inside the home called police from another room. The suspects fled once police arrived, but they were eventually arrested, Fox News Digital reported.

As of publication, authorities have not yet stated if this incident is connected to Nancy Guthrie’s case.

The mother of one of the suspects contacted authorities in California to report texts on his phone that allegedly mentioned wearing a delivery uniform and committing a burglary, according to the outlet, citing court documents.

The messages allegedly contained an address of a home in Scottsdale. California authorities notified the Scottsdale Police Department, but the information was received after the alleged home invasion had occurred, Fox News Digital reported.

The teens were reportedly armed with a 3D-printed gun containing no ammunition, and the functionality of the gun is unclear. Both teens face a number of felony charges, including burglary, aggravated assault and kidnapping, according to the outlet.

Fox News Digital did not identify the suspects because they are under the age of 18.

Court documents said the teens were extorted by individuals identified only as “Red” and “8”, and they were allegedly given $1,000 to buy supplies for disguises, restraints and burglary tools, the outlet reported. (RELATED: FBI Unveils Surveillance Photos Of Masked Figure In Nancy Guthrie Case)
