Police Probe New Message From Nancy Guthrie’s Alleged Captors

Authorities are investigating a new message believed to have been sent from Nancy Guthrie’s alleged captors.

Mary Coleman, anchor for Arizona-based CNN affiliate KOLD 13 News told CNN the note is shorter than the alleged ransom note initially sent to TMZ, and does not include a deadline.  She claimed the note included sensitive information, seemingly prompting officers to return to Nancy’s home. A section of the area has been cordoned off as investigators probe the area.

The FBI has offered a $50,000 reward for information. Nancy, daughter of “Today” host Savannah Guthrie, was last seen the night of January 31 and was reported missing February 1.

In a secondary tweet she wrote, “Some additional details we can release: 13 News received the new note this morning.
We sent the IP address where the note came from to law enforcement. It is NOT the same IP address as the initial note, but it appears the sender used the same type of secure server to hide their IP address.”

“The new note contains something the senders seem to think will prove to investigators they’re the same people who sent the first note,” Coleman said.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department confirmed on X Saturday that they are scrutinizing the message and digging deeper into the matter.
