High Noon is recalling thousands of seltzer cans after a major packaging error swapped out labels for a popular energy drink — while keeping the vodka inside.
Some 12-packs of the brands “Beach Pack” were found to contain cans labeled as Celsius’ “Astro Vibe” flavor, but filled with High Noon’s vodka-based hard seltzer, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The mislabeled cans were shipped to six states and could pose a risk to unsuspecting consumers expecting a 200mg caffeine kick, not booze. “Consumers are advised to dispose of the CELSIUS ASTRO VIBE Energy Drink, Sparkling Blue Razz Edition cans with the impacted lot codes and not consume the liquid,” the FDA wrote. “High Noon Beach Variety packs with different lot codes than above are not affected by this recall and are safe to consume.”

The FDA is urging consumers to check the bottom of any Astro Vibe cans for the affected lot codes, even if the drinks weren’t purchased in a High Noon box. Officials warned the mislabeled products should not be consumed and told customers to toss them immediately.
The agency said the mix-up likely stemmed from a packaging supplier that mistakenly sent Celsius-labelled cans to High Noon, which then filled them with alcoholic seltzer. The mislabeled products were ultimately distributed to retailers in at least eight states. (RELATED: The Best Adult Beverages To Enjoy On The Golf Course)
Customers who believe they purchased an affected pack are encouraged to contact High Noon’s consumer relations team for a possible refund.
