Popular Fast Food Mac And Cheese Alleged Bandit Busted

A former fast-food worker in North Texas allegedly pocketed more than $80,000 by exploiting a restaurant register and a whole lot of macaroni and cheese.

Detectives opened an investigation in November 2025 after a local Chick-fil-A owner reported the theft, the Grapevine Police Department said in a public statement. After pulling security camera footage, investigators pinpointed a former employee who had been let go a month prior as the suspect. The footage allegedly showed him unattended behind the counter, where he rang up 800 mac and cheese tray orders and funneled the refunds onto his personal credit cards, the department said. All told, the phony refunds added up to just north of $80,000, according to police.

The suspect was identified as Keyshun Jones, who had been terminated from the restaurant in about October 2025, FOX KDFW reported. The October timeline was confirmed by information Grapevine police provided to local outlets KDFW and WFAA, WAFB reported.

The suspect dodged authorities on several occasions after the investigation began, according to the Grapevine Police Department. He was finally taken into custody on April 17, 2026. The Texas Attorney General’s Fugitive Task Force and the Fort Worth Police Department assisted with the arrest, FOX 4 KDFW reported.

Grapevine police confirmed charges of property theft, money laundering, and evading arrest. Tarrant County jail records reviewed by WAFB revealed two additional charges not included in the department’s public statement, including unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and fraudulent use of identification. Jones is being held on a $117,500 bond, according to WAFB.

It was not clear if Jones had hired an attorney, NBC DFW noted.
