GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy predicted that Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) would soon join 2024 rival Nikki Haley’s ticket.
In a video posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, Ramaswamy speculated that DeSantis’s donors would force him to join Haley’s ticket to oust 2024 GOP front-runner Donald Trump.
“The system wants to narrow this down to a two-horse race between Donald Trump and a puppet who they can control,” Ramaswamy said. “And it is becoming increasingly clear that puppet is not a Democrat. It’s not even Gavin Newsom. It’s Nikki Haley. It’s in our party.”
“Next up, I’m going to make a prediction,” he continued. “You’re actually going to see Ron DeSantis join Nikki Haley’s ticket. He’s going to be her VP. The whole game, it’s hiding in plain sight, whatever it takes. This system will stop at nothing, and I mean nothing, to eliminate Donald Trump from contention. It’s disgusting. But the same people who have said they’re not going to actually take a principled stand against Trump’s removal from the ballot — Haley and DeSantis are both in that category. Do the math, people. That’s next up.”
“Ron may not know this, Ron DeSantis may not know this, but that’s what his donors are gonna make him do,” Ramaswamy said. “That’s what’s coming next. Ron DeSantis will become Nikki’s VP. Whether or not Ron knows it, it’s not really his choice. He’s not the one in charge of that decision.”
He concluded by urging voters not to “fall into the trap.”
Ramaswamy elaborated on this point in an appearance on Timcast, pointing to some of Haley’s supporters.
“The very people who are paying to keep Trump off the ballot … look at who they’re supporting. It’s not Gavin Newsom. It’s not Joe Biden. It’s Nikki Haley,” he said.

Ramaswamy was excluded from CNN’s Republican debate on Wednesday, which only featured DeSantis and Haley, who tore into each other.
“Ratings wasteland CNN has not only guaranteed themselves the most boring presidential ‘debate’ in modern history with two career politicians reciting consultant-vetted talking points, but the network has exposed itself to be actively engaging in egregious interference with the Iowa GOP caucus and disrespecting GOP voters,” Ramaswamy said in a statement. “Censorship, cherry-picking polls, and legal threats are just the mainstream media’s latest tactics to prop up their favorite puppet.”
