Rep. Jamie Raskin (R-MD) claimed the Democrat members on the House Oversight Committee are known to him as “the Truth Squad.”

Raskin appeared on MSNBC’s The Weekend Sunday to offer his insight on the committee, where he is the ranking Democratic member. This committee has been investigating allegations against Hunter Biden and President Joe Biden, receiving a surprise visit from Hunter at a hearing last week.

“I call my members on the Oversight Committee ‘the Truth Squad’ because they are devoted to getting the truth out there and explaining it in terms that America can understand,” Raskin said. “And they do a fantastic job.”

The Democratic members Raskin referred to include Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Cori Bush (D-MO), and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) who are also known as “Squad” members in Congress.

Currently the committee is considering a resolution to hold the president’s son in contempt of Congress for defying two of its subpoenas. Hunter Biden’s lawyer promised that if issued a new subpoena, he would comply this third time.

Steve Bannon and other Trump administration officials faced prosecution by U.S. Attorney Matthew Graves for contempt of Congress when they failed to comply with their subpoenas from the House Select Committee following January 6, 2021.
