Rep. Roger Williams (R-TX) claimed a sign posted outside his Washington office declaring his support of Israel was stolen Thursday.
According to Williams, the sign, which depicted the Israeli flag and read: “I stand with Israel,” disappeared sometime Wednesday night. He first posted a photo of the sign outside of his office in the Capitol earlier that day to X, formerly known as Twitter.

“Last night, someone came to my DC office and took down my Stand With lsrael sign. Let me be clear, I will not be deterred by this vandalism, we must support Israel in its fight against evil and hate,” Rogers wrote on X Thursday, captioning a photo with him next to two new signs. “My office has contacted the Capitol Police who will be opening an investigation.”
The U.S. Capitol Police confirmed to the Washington Examiner that it is looking into what happened to the sign. Williams put up the sign after Hamas fired thousands of rockets and sent dozens of fighters into Israel on Simchat Torah, a Jewish holiday celebrating the annual cycle of the Torah scroll reading. Some 2,500 have died in the conflict between Hamas and Israel so far.
“If you want to come by tonight, I’ll be here,” Rogers said in a video posted to X on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) continues to display a Palestinian flag outside of her House office after the invasion of Israel by Hamas. It has not been stolen or vandalized in the way that Williams alleges his sign was.
In response, Rep. Max Miller (R-OH) has since sponsored an appropriation amendment declaring that funds will not be used on any foreign flags.
