A Hanover father was arrested by police for allegedly taking upskirt photographs of women and teenage girls at Derby Street Shops in Hingham, Massachusetts, authorities said.
Forty-four-year-old Aedan Ford allegedly used his cellphone to secretly photograph victims, according to a Hingham Police Department press release. He was pushing a shopping cart containing what appeared to be his young daughter, according to CBS News. Ford’s alleged behavior was so obvious that another shopper witnessed the illegal activity and alerted store managers at Whole Foods, the outlet reported, citing court documents.

“Especially when you’re in a public place, there’s other people around, and people wouldn’t be suspicious by someone carrying their phone. We all carry our phone in our hands,” Hingham Police Lt. Steven Dearth stated, CBS News reported.
Court documents reportedly reveal Ford allegedly bent over and pretended to examine fruit displays while extending his phone beneath victims’ skirts. Surveillance footage captured the alleged crimes, police said, according to the outlet.
Investigators discovered the suspect allegedly committed similar acts at Kohl’s, where two incidents involved victims under 18 years old, authorities stated in the press release. Police described Ford’s alleged pattern as so severe they believed he would likely continue without intervention, CBS News reported.
“They were able to identify that two other incidents where this same person committed what you’d commonly refer to as ‘upskirting’ and two of those cases in Kohl’s involved minors, meaning children under 18,” Lt. Dearth said, the outlet reported. (RELATED: Couple Arrested After Mom Allegedly Sells 2-Year-Old Daughter To Meth Dealer)
Ford pleaded not guilty at his arraignment following his arrest at his Hanover home, according to the outlet. The court imposed strict conditions: Ford must avoid Derby Street Shops and cannot have unsupervised contact with minors, except his own children.
