The chairman of the Arlington GOP in Virginia was approached by an “unhinged” voter on Tuesday who accused him of trying to “overthrow elections with violence.”

Matthew Hurtt, the chairman who recorded the video, was talking to the Democratic poll greeters and several voters before being approached by the voter, who then “flew into a rage” after Hurtt offered a Republican sample ballot. After the voter went inside a building to vote, Hurtt decided to turn on his phone camera and slide the phone into his shirt pocket, recording a second exchange once the voter approached him again, according to Byron York, the chief political correspondent for the Washington Examiner.

“You f***ing people tried to overthrow the election. You might as well have been walking up to my head on the way to the polling station, pointing a gun to my head, and trying to tell me not to vote,” the man said. “You expect me not to take that f***ing personally?”

The man stated he would remember Hurtt “personally” if he tried to “steal my vote next year” and proceeded to pull out his phone and take a picture. Hurtt stated it was fine for the man to take a photo of him.

Hurtt’s footage was posted on Tuesday morning, and he stated in the afternoon he had filed a police report with local authorities over the man who approached him. While he believes he can confirm the identity of the man, he stated he would “not be doing that here on this platform.”

I have filed a police report with local authorities regarding the gentleman in the video. I believe I can confirm his identity. I will not be doing that here on this platform.

Virginia is one of several states having elections on Tuesday, with all 140 of Virginia’s legislative seats on the ballot. Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R-VA) is seeking to help Republicans keep control of the state House while flipping the state Senate.

Other states having elections on Tuesday include Ohio, Kentucky, and Pennsylvania. Kentucky is having a gubernatorial election between incumbent Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear and Republican Attorney General Daniel Cameron, while Ohio is voting on Issue 1, which would enshrine the right to “make and carry out one’s own reproductive decision,” and Pennsylvania is voting on its state Supreme Court.
