Independent 2024 presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. secured enough signatures on Tuesday to appear on New Hampshire’s ballot.
It took 3,000 signatures for RFK Jr. to make sure his name would appear next to the Republican and Democratic nominees, shaping up to be former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden, respectively.
“I want to thank our dedicated supporters and volunteers who made this great accomplishment possible,” Kennedy said in a statement Tuesday night. “Democracy is much more than voting. I’m inspired by how enthusiastic people are to collect signatures, create new political parties, and rally for real change. This kind of energy is what will get us onto the ballot in every state and fuel our voter registration and GOTV operation as we head toward election day.”
New Hampshire is the second state where RFK Jr. has qualified after he met the threshold in Utah earlier this month.
Kennedy touted the Granite State as “a major battleground” between his campaign and the Democratic National Committee when he was running for president as a Democrat. He felt that the DNC’s decision to “reorder the calendar and push New Hampshire to a later date” showed it would do anything to “coronate Biden without a fair contest,” leading to his decision in October to run as an independent.

It remains to be seen whether RFK Jr.’s candidacy will most affect Democrats or Republicans by taking away votes from the parties’ nominees.
The long-shot candidate’s team is working to make him eligible in all 50 states and the District of Columbia for the presidential election in November.
