Saturday Night Live dedicated its most recent cold open to former New York Rep. George Santos.
Cast member Bowen Yang impersonated Santos during a press conference skit that became a musical number. Santos was expelled from Congress Friday after several attempts.

“Everyone, stop assaulting me. I’m being assaulted. This entire country has been bullying me just because I’m a proud, gay thief,” Yang said. “Fine, so I’m no longer Congressman Santos. I’m regular old professor, Major General astronaut Santos, protector of the realm, Princess of Genovia.”
The rest of the SNL cast took on the role of reporters, making jokes about how desperate the press conference was. Yang then took to the piano to sing about the “tragic fall” of Santos in a parody of the song “Candle in the Wind” by Elton John. At one point, Yang produced a baby doll from the piano to poke fun at Santos’s brief photo op holding a baby in the halls of Congress.
“And it seems to me I lived my life like an evil Forest Gump,” Yang sang. “I’m the guy who lied even too much for Donald Trump.”

Santos had already announced he would not run for a second term before expulsion. The former representative has pled not guilty to 23 federal charges of fraud.
Next, Gov. Kathy Hochul (D-NY) will schedule a special election to find a replacement for Santos in Congress. Santos was one of 26 House members from New York and the sixth congressman to be removed from the House.
