Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) said voters will reject Vice President Kamala Harris’s bid for the White House, arguing they recognize the “wage cut” they have experienced under her watch on the economy.
Stefanik pointed to what she called the “economic boom” under former President Donald Trump’s leadership compared to the “economic bust” with President Joe Biden and Harris, and said the choice voters have this November will be “very clear.” She argued a single trip to the grocery store is proof their lives were “absolutely” better, and that people will reject the “propaganda” telling them otherwise.
“Voters across the country are smart, and they know that they’ve seen this inflation cut in,” Stefanik said on Fox News’s Life, Liberty and Levin. “It’s a wage cut to every worker across this country because our dollar goes less and less when you go to the grocery store. I am shocked, you look at the price of diapers, you look at the lack of access to baby formula, this has hurt working women in this country, young families in this country.”
Stefanik also denounced attempts by the Left to argue that Harris is not involved in the country’s inflation, as “she owns it lock, stock, and barrel.” The congresswoman referenced how Harris was the deciding vote on the “Inflation Expansion Act,” a reference to the Inflation Reduction Act which Harris voted yes to in 2022.
About Trump, Stefanik argued the former president will deliver “economic strength” should he return to the White House next year, as “he prioritizes hardworking American families.” She also knocked Harris for copying Trump’s proposal to have no taxes on tips, calling it “his proposal that he will get done.”
Last week, Harris unveiled her economic ambitions should she become president, including a federal “price-gouging” ban designed to combat lingering high prices. This would allow the Federal Trade Commission and state attorneys general to impose “harsh penalties” on companies.

Both Trump and Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH), the former president’s 2024 running mate, have been very vocal about Harris and the economy under her watch, with Vance questioning why voters would want to elect her to the presidency when she hasn’t used her influence as vice president to address inflation. He contended on Sunday that Harris would be “more of the same” compared to a proper “fresh start” that voters want with the economy.
Trump has also voiced his disapproval against Harris and the current state of the economy, discussing how the “Kamala Harris price hike” has cost families in the country $28,000 in a video posted to his TikTok account.
