Stephen A. Smith says those claiming State of the Union earned Biden four more years are ‘smoking crack’ – Washington Examiner

ESPN personality and First Take host Stephen A. Smith called out leftists praising President Joe Biden’s fervor and energy at the State of the Union, suggesting that anyone who thinks Biden deserves four more years based on his performance is “smoking crack.”

“What the hell does that mean, that Joe Biden looked like he had energy last night?” Smith asked on Friday’s episode of the The Stephen A. Smith Show. “The question is, can you rely on him to do that for four years, starting next year?”

“He gives a speech for an hour and 10 minutes or so on a weeknight in March of 2024, and, suddenly, that warrants four more years for a dude that’s gonna turn 82 years of age in November and is expected to give four more years after that?”

Smith has previously chastised the Democrats for banking on an elderly man to win, and he reiterated that criticism Friday.

“It is an utter disgrace that, in the year 2024, the Democratic Party, who calls itself progressives, is begging and relying upon an 82-year-old to come save the day for 2025, 2026, 2027, into 2028,” he said.

“If you think that an hour speech offsets all of that, you smoking crack.”

Age matters, according to Smith, because the public has witnessed “slippage.”

“He didn’t look that way last night,” he said. “Give him credit for that, but it doesn’t amount to a hill of beans in the grand scheme of things when you [are] talking about four more years.”
