Some eligible Alaskans who have yet to receive their 2023 checks from the state’s Permanent Fund Dividend will get their annual payment in eight days.
The Alaska Department of Revenue is sending out checks to residents who are eligible for the annual PFD payment but did not receive it during the first four disbursements in just over one week. Payments from the program for 2023 began going out to eligible residents in October.
The checks from the state being sent on Jan. 18 will go to those who had the “Eligible-Not Paid” status by Wednesday and have yet to receive their PFD check from 2023 or earlier.
Residents in the state can apply for the 2024 Permanent Fund Dividend until March 31 by filling out an application online or via paper form. To be eligible for the annual program, an applicant must intend to remain a resident of Alaska indefinitely and not be a convicted felon, among other requirements.
The state determines how much the PFD check is worth based on Alaska’s mineral revenues for that year. Each PFD check for 2023 was worth $1,312 per resident.
“The 2023 PFD marks the 42nd year Alaskans have received their share of the state’s natural resource wealth,” Alaska Department of Revenue Commissioner Adam Crum said in a statement. “I would like to thank our Permanent Fund Dividend Division for their tireless work year-round in administering the program and processing the applications.”

“This year, we processed over 8,000 more applications than in 2022,” he added in 2023. “The 2023 PFD will inject nearly $1 billion into the state’s economy and directly into the hands of Alaskans.”
