Stimulus update: Direct payment worth $1,312 to be sent to some Alaska residents in three days – Washington Examiner

The Alaska Department of Revenue will issue checks from the Permanent Fund Dividend to another swath of residents who have yet to receive their payments from the program in three days.

The latest batch of PFD payments will go out on Thursday to those who had the “Eligible-Not Paid” status as of Wednesday and have yet to get their checks from the state program from 2023 or earlier.

An Alaskan must intend to remain a resident of the state indefinitely and may not be a convicted felon, among other stipulations, to be eligible for the program. The 2024 Permanent Fund Dividend has applications open from now to March 31, and they may be completed either online or via paper form.

The amount a check from the Permanent Fund Dividend is worth each year is determined by Alaska’s annual mineral revenues. The payments being sent to eligible residents in the coming days come from 2023 or earlier.

The check sent out from the Permanent Fund Dividend in 2023 was worth $1,312. The distribution for last year’s payment began in October.

“The 2023 PFD marks the 42nd year Alaskans have received their share of the state’s natural resource wealth,” Alaska Department of Revenue Commissioner Adam Crum said in a statement about the 2023 payment. “I would like to thank our Permanent Fund Dividend Division for their tireless work year-round in administering the program and processing the applications.”

“This year, we processed over 8,000 more applications than in 2022,” Crum said. “The 2023 PFD will inject nearly $1 billion into the state’s economy and directly into the hands of Alaskans.”
