The View‘s Sunny Hostin was joyful on Monday about the House speaker vote drama on Capitol Hill being a “win for the Democrats.”
“I’m rather enjoying it myself. It’s sort of Republican-on-Republican crime, as Joy [Behar] would say,” Hostin said on Monday.
HOW HOUSE REPUBLICANS WILL PICK THEIR NEXT SPEAKER NOMINEE IN CROWDED FIELD
She was optimistic about the House speaker battle and the 2024 elections converging as bad news for the Republicans.
“The general election that’s going to happen in 2024, Donald Trump, with four indictments, is still leading. He’s still the leading nominee, and now you can’t — the Republican Party can’t even get a speaker together. So, I think that this is a win for the Democrats in a sense,” she said.
Hostin continued to explain, “Because you have someone like Joe Biden who is coming to the table with his experience and foreign policy who is, like, the only grown-up in the room, it seems.”
The View host went on to describe House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) as also a grown-up “winner in this.”

“He’s the minority [leader], but he’s the only grown-up in the room. I hope that voters are looking at this chaos and thinking, ‘I would like grown-ups in the room. I would not like these children that can’t even get along.’ I mean, my kids get along better than this. It’s ridiculous,” she said.
The effort to vote for a House speaker on Capitol Hill continued on Monday after Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) failed to secure enough votes for speaker on Friday. Now, nine Republican candidates are vying for the position.
