Police in Los Angeles are scouring the city for a group of suspects after the gang rammed a truck through the front of an Arleta-area clothing store and pillaged the location.

Known as a crash-and-grab, the crime occurred Wednesday at around 11:30 p.m. at the New Star clothing store in a local strip mall, according to a report that cited the Los Angeles Police Department.

Officers who responded to the scene found that the suspects had used a truck to smash through the front of the store.

They took custom jewelry and clothing before fleeing in a separate vehicle, according to the report.

“It’s just sad because it getting to be an everyday thing for us,” Arleta Neighborhood Council Vice President Jaime Gallow said.

A total lack of stringent law enforcement has encouraged criminals to commit crimes such as crash-and-grabs, according to Gallow.

“We advise people to be careful and be aware of their surroundings.”
