Teenager charged as adult after supplying child with fentanyl involved in fatal overdose – Washington Examiner

A teenager in Tennessee is being charged as an adult after allegedly supplying a child with the fentanyl that caused his fatal overdose.

The Memphis Police Department identified 17-year-old Jaxx High as the suspect arrested and charged in relation to the deadly Jan. 28 incident, according to a Thursday report.

The body of the victim was purportedly discovered in the area around Wrenwood Street, but the child was declared dead at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital.

An autopsy soon revealed that the victim had died of a fentanyl overdose, and High is being charged with murder as an adult.

He is currently being held on a $75,000 bond.

Samuel Sipes, 20, is also facing second-degree murder charges related to the Jan. 28 incident.

Sipes was arrested after the victim’s mother provided authorities with a phone conversation that showed Sipes had visited the child’s residence to give the victim marijuana and fentanyl, according to police.
