Texas Teen Allegedly Shoots Woman Helping A Friend Through Cancer

A Texas teenager was charged with allegedly shooting a woman who helped her friend attend her cancer treatment Friday, according to the friend and authorities.

Cassie Daniel, who has been documenting her journey through cancer, alleged in a Facebook post Sunday that her friend, Marietta Allison, was shot in the neck after giving Daniel a ride back from a chemotherapy treatment in Houston. Daniel said that upon returning to Allison’s apartment, where she had been staying throughout her treatment, Allison had dropped Daniel off before finding a place to park. Daniel alleged that Allison was shot and killed while walking back to the apartment after parking Daniel’s car.

Daniel said she heard a gunshot but was not able to contact or find Allison until first responders arrived.

“The man took her purse, stole my car key and took the car,” Daniel said. She provided police the necessary information to arrest the suspect.

The Houston Police Department said it arrested 18-year-old Darius Dewayne Hall after the victim was pronounced dead at the hospital, according to a press release.

Local officers and Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) members tracked Hall, who allegedly fled police before barricading himself inside an empty apartment, before eventually being taken into custody.

Hall is being held in the Harris County Jail and is charged with capital murder, evading arrest and tampering with physical evidence, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

Daniel alleged Hall left two guns in her car, and investigators have a shell casing so they can “match ballistics.” Hall asserted the guns are not his, according to Daniel.

She said she was informed that Hall had allegedly picked up a 16-year-old prostitute.

Daniel further alleged in the Facebook video that Hall was on probation after juvenile arrests.

Daniel said Allison was like a sister who offered love and support, especially through Daniel’s struggle with cancer.

“She came back to take care of me while I was going through cancer,” Daniel said through tears. “So please keep praying for her husband for us.”

The Houston Police Department has not responded to the Daily Caller’s request for comment as of publication.
