The hosts of The View dedicated a segment to mocking Sidney Powell following her guilty plea to conspiracy to interfere with election duties.
Friday’s episode of The View came a day after Powell was in court to fulfill her end of a plea deal. All the hosts (Joy Behar, Ana Navarro, Sunny Hostin, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Sara Haines) expressed their exuberance over what Powell’s plea could mean for Fulton County’s case of election interference against former President Donald Trump. At various points in the show, they broke out into song.
WHY THE REPUBLICANS CAN’T JUST GET ALONG
“[Powell] was found guilty of six counts of conspiracy yesterday, and she’s singing to prosecutors,” Behar said. Navarro responded by singing Queen’s “Another One Bites the Dust.”
“Can I just bring up another legal point? She got a sweetheart deal. She got six years of probation, no jail time. Which means she’s singing,” Hostin said, singing aloud. “That’s basically what she’s doing. Not only against Trump — she has promised to testify against any other co-defendant. And once they start hearing that, they join the choir.”
Hostin’s prediction would prove true, as a day after Powell’s plea, the third defendant, Kenneth Chesebro, also pleaded guilty. His trial was scheduled for Monday.
“She’s so mockable and contemptible that it’s almost funny,” Griffin said of Powell. “I remember the final days before I resigned from the White House. We were trying to keep her out of the West Wing ’cause she was known as a lunatic.”

Due to the guilty plea, Powell avoided seven felony counts charged against her. These charges surrounded her involvement in a January 2021 breach of an election system in rural Coffee County, Georgia.
Powell was Trump’s campaign attorney during his reelection bid in 2020.
