The View hosts don’t see ‘conflict of interest’ in Fani Willis case: ‘Ridiculous political move’ – Washington Examiner

Hosts of The View changed their once-critical tune of Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis and instead claimed there is no case against her.

Sunny Hostin reacted to Willis’s testimony during a Thursday hearing on the Georgia election interference case against former President Donald Trump, where questioning surrounded whether the district attorney’s romantic relationship with prosecutor Nathan Wade created a conflict of interest in the case.

Willis was looking for a late summer trial, but the case was derailed after the accusations about her relationship with Wade surfaced through a court document filed by co-defendant Mike Roman that called for her disqualification from the case. However, according to Hostin, the case that Willis financially benefited from cruises, vacations, and day trips with Wade is weak.

“They don’t have a case against her,” Hostin said. “That’s why it’s such a ridiculous political move. It’s just — there’s no there, there — there’s no real, real case there.”

Willis claimed she hired three special prosecutors and paid them all the “same hourly rate.” Former Trump campaign official Michael Roman claimed in a lawsuit that Wade had been paid $654,000 in legal fees by Fulton County between January 2022 and January 2024.

“I don’t think they’ve been able to prove conflict of interest, which is the issue they are looking at. But it doesn’t look good,” host Ana Navarro chimed in, similarly following a previous episode where she said she was “very pissed off” at Willis.

“I don’t see a conflict of interest,” host Sara Haines said. “I see the political motivations here.”

Willis’s father and retired attorney, John Floyd III, also took the stand Friday to testify on behalf of his daughter. While he met Wade a year ago, he said he was not aware of the relationship Wade had with his daughter until some seven weeks ago.
