The View hosts hope Walz calls Vance ‘a weirdo’ and ‘a moron’ in VP debate – Washington Examiner

Ahead of Tuesday night’s vice presidential debate, the ladies of The View made their predictions and shared advice for Democratic presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris’s running mate, Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN), while slamming Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) as a “moron” and “dislikable.”

Co-host Sunny Hostin said that Walz was “authentic” and should “challenge” Vance’s Hillbilly Elegy background.

“I want Tim Walz to in his folksy way to call him ‘a weirdo.’ Call him weird. I also want him to challenge him. … I’m an everyday man as well,” Hostin said on Monday.

“I want to see ‘Coach Tim Walz.’ I want to see Coach Tim Walz ask J.D. Vance, ‘Are Haitian people really eating pets? Do you really believe that?’ I want him to question him about Project 2025. I want him to hold his feet to the fire,” she added.

She slammed the senator’s relationship with Silicon Valley because that’s where he “made money with billionaires.”

Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin predicted that Vance had “more at stake” because of his unfavorability ratings and being seen as the candidate “who called us childless cat ladies.” Griffin added that the Minnesota governor, by contrast, brings “an every man” experience.

“Tim Walz, on the other hand, comes in with a lot more experience. He’s coming up on his sixth year in office. He’s got more experience as opposed to Vance who’s a junior senator, but what Tim Walz thrives at is being kind of the dad who’s, you know, changing the oil and seeming like an every man. He also needs to show up as a statesman. People look to VP debates to say, ‘Could you be president god forbid tomorrow if something happened?’ So he needs to lean into more ‘Gov. Tim Walz,’” Farah Griffin said.

Ana Navarro called Vance “just so damn dislikable.”

“What I think Tim Walz needs to do is reveal [Vance] for who he is: a coward, duplicitous, hypocritical, opportunist who remains silent while Trump attacks Kamala Harris for being biracial, even though his children are biracial,” Navarro said. “Who attacks Kamala Harris for being … South Asian even though he’s married to an Indian woman … and I hope he reminds him of what he called Donald Trump: ‘America’s Hitler.’”

Whoopi Goldberg said she wanted to hear “the facts” at the debate but also claimed that she hoped Vance would be called “a moron” in the debate.

The show hosts began the segment discussing a news report by CNN that revealed that Walz was “nervous” about his upcoming debate with Vance. The vice presidential debate will be hosted by CBS News on Tuesday night and airing at 9 p.m. Eastern in New York City.
