Indiana Sen. Mike Braun’s campaign for governor got a big boost last night when former President Donald Trump endorsed the former businessman’s effort.
“I was proud to endorse Mike when he ran for the Senate in 2018, and I am proud to do so again,” Trump said on Truth Social.

“Mike Braun has my complete and total endorsement to be the next governor of the great state of Indiana,” added Trump.
Braun was quick with a thank you and added, “I am honored to have former President Donald J. Trump’s endorsement, as together we enacted the America First conservative economic agenda that lowered taxes, created good-paying Hoosier jobs, confirmed constitutionalists on the Supreme Court who protected life, and began building the wall to reduce illegal immigration.”
Trump is popular in the Hoosier State. He won it in 2020 57% to Joe Biden’s 41%, an increase in his vote share from 2016.
The endorsement could be key for the popular senator because he is facing Republican Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch and others in the race.
In an August poll, Braun had the biggest lead over Democratic gubernatorial candidate Jennifer McCormick, the former Indiana state schools superintendent, of the top three Republicans in the race.

Trump, in his post, cited many “Hoosier values” that he likes in Braun, who has been a steady supporter of Trump, MAGA and America First policies.
“In the Senate, Mike is working hard to support our law enforcement, secure our borders, and stop the woke fascist mob trying to destroy our country. Mike is an America First conservative who knows how to grow the economy, fight inflation, and champion ‘Hoosier’ values,” he wrote.
Braun added in his statement, “Like him, I’m a businessman who got involved in politics because I was worried about the direction of America and the politicians who failed to put the people first. In 2018, President Trump was incredibly helpful as together we defeated liberal Democrat Joe Donnelly, and his support will undoubtedly help in my journey to bring conservative Main Street solutions to Indiana.”
