Donald Trump‘s campaign is reveling in Vice President Kamala Harris‘s interview with Bret Baier, saying it can use the entire conversation as an ad for the former president’s bid.
Trump and Harris are less than three weeks away from Election Day and are working overtime to try to eke out an advantage over the other in the razor-thin contest. Harris recently reversed her media strategy to mirror that of Trump and appeared on several programs across radio, television, and social media to discuss her campaign. This came after a month in which Harris did not offer any interviews despite the brevity of her campaign.
The Trump campaign, its major players, and Trump commented online about Harris’s first appearance on Fox as a presidential candidate. The profile behind the campaign posted the interview in its entirety online.
“OUR NEWEST AD JUST DROPPED,” the Trump campaign captioned the clip.
“Great job by Bret Baier in his Interview with Lyin’ Kamala Harris. She has a massive and irredeemable case of TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME — So bad, in fact, that she is barely able to talk about any subject other than the man who had the best economy ever, the strongest border in history, and who just got the UNANIMOUS ENDORSEMENT OF THE U.S. Border Patrol, ME!” Trump wrote on X. “Again, congratulations to Bret Baier on a tough but very fair interview, one that clearly showed how totally incompetent Kamala is.”
“Kamala Harris’ interview with Bret Baier was a TRAIN WRECK. Kamala was angry, defensive, and once again abdicated any responsibility for the problems Americans are facing,” Trump campaign press secretary Karoline Leavitt wrote. “She couldn’t give a straight answer to a single question because she has no answers. Kamala’s entire campaign is based on lies about President Trump. Kamala can’t handle the pressure of an interview with Fox News — she certainly can’t handle the pressure of being President of the United States.”
Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who runs the pro-Trump super PAC America PAC, also could not resist commenting on the interview. Musk posted a clip from the interview, in which Baier showed Harris a poll that found 79% of respondents said they think the country is on the wrong track. When the host asked Harris to explain how she would turn the page, Harris responded, “Donald Trump has been running for office.”
“Funnier than any parody,” Musk captioned the clip.

On the same night the interview aired, Trump was in Miami, Florida, to field questions at a Univision town hall. Harris held a similar event one week earlier in Nevada.
This interview with Fox comes after Harris opted out of an opportunity to be interviewed live by Bloomberg Editor-in-Chief John Micklethwait. Trump sat down with Micklethwait on Tuesday.
