Trump campaign zeroes in on Ramaswamy in final days before Iowa caucuses

Former President Donald Trump and his campaign have increased their attacks against Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy in the final days before the first-in-the-nation caucuses in Iowa.

Senior Trump campaign adviser Chris LaCivita is the latest to criticize Ramaswamy, warning voters to “beware” the 2024 hopeful.

LaCivita shared a video of Ramaswamy on X, formerly Twitter, speaking to an older woman on the campaign trail about their shared concerns for Trump over his 91 indictments along with the caption, “If you are a Republican and in Iowa and support @realDonaldTrump you need to be on the look out for #VAFAKE …but beware …he’s a Vegetarian.”

The post from LaCivita came shortly after Ramaswamy attempted to brush off criticism from Trump in which the former president declared that Ramaswamy “is not MAGA” and a “vote for Vivek is a vote for the ‘other side.’”

“Vivek started his campaign as a great supporter, ‘the best President in generations,’ etc. Unfortunately, now all he does is disguise his support in the form of deceitful campaign tricks,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform on Friday.

“Very sly, but a vote for Vivek is a vote for the ‘other side’ — don’t get duped by this,” the post added. “Vote for ‘TRUMP,’ don’t waste your vote! Vivek is not MAGA.”

Ramaswamy said in a post on X that he had seen his 2024 primary competitor’s comments urging voters not to back the biotech entrepreneur’s insurgent presidential bid over his own. Instead of hitting back at Trump, Ramaswamy said he wouldn’t “fall for that trap.”

“Yes, I saw President Trump’s Truth Social post,” Ramaswamy wrote. “It’s an unfortunate move by his campaign advisors, I don’t think friendly fire is helpful. Donald Trump was the greatest President of the 21st century, and I’m not going to criticize him in response to this late attack.”

“Our movement must live on,” he continued. “America-First didn’t start in 2016. It started in 1776. We owe it to our Founding Fathers to do the right thing for our country. I want to save Trump & to save this country. Let’s do it together. You won’t hear any friendly fire from me.”

In response to Ramaswamy’s post, LaCivita posted, “Your diatribe doesn’t do anything to fix your loony pump and dump on MAGA ….the end is near and you can go play more tennis.”
