Trump keeps up his Haley feud after her endorsement – Washington Examiner

Former President Donald Trump hit former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley after a report claimed she would campaign with him.

On Thursday, the Bulwark reported that Trump’s last primary rival “is in talks to join [Trump] on the campaign trail in an attempt to win over disaffected Republicans.” However, in an interview with Fox & Friends the following morning, Trump seemed less than enthusiastic about the prospect.

“I’ll do what I have to do,” he answered when asked if he would ask Haley to join him on the campaign trail but added, “Nikki Haley and I fought, and I beat her by 50, 60, 90 points. I beat her in her own state by numbers that nobody’s ever been beaten by. I beat Nikki badly.”

“They keep talking about Nikki, Nikki. I like Nikki,” Trump continued. “Nikki I don’t think … should have done what she did, and that’s fine that she did it.”

He added that Haley “is helping us already.”

Though Haley was defeated by historic margins in the 2024 Republican primary, she still commands a small but influential group of centrist voters. It took the former Trump administration official a significant amount of time to endorse Trump after dropping out, but she gave her support in a Republican National Convention speech.

She largely receded from the headlines following her defeat, though she occasionally makes media appearances to comment on the race or relations with Israel. In September, she criticized the Trump campaign and has repeatedly insisted she isn’t interested in a position in the next Trump administration.

“No, I’m not interested in serving in the administration. I said that on the campaign. This was never about a position for me. This was never about something else. I ran because I love this country so much,” Haley said. “It was really in that vein that I ran. But now it’s in that vein as a voter that I want to see Donald Trump win. Because we can’t afford to have a President Kamala Harris.”
