Trump to sling fries at Pennsylvania McDonald’s in slight against Harris – Washington Examiner

Former President Donald Trump has made it clear over the years that when it comes to McDonald’s food, he’s “lovin’ it.” On Sunday, the Republican presidential nominee will be taking that love a step further, heading behind the counter at an undisclosed restaurant in Pennsylvania.

Trump’s upcoming visit was confirmed to the Washington Examiner by his campaign. It will be made a day after Trump is scheduled to hold a rally in Latrobe, Pennsylvania.

The brief foray into restaurant work is intended to be a jab at Vice President Kamala Harris, who claimed she had worked at McDonald’s at one point in her life.

“She lied about working at McDonald’s; how simple is that?” Trump said at a rally last week. “No, she said, ‘I worked hard at McDonald’s for a long time, I work over the french fry…’ and you know what I’m doing next week? I’m going to a McDonald’s to work, because if I work there for 10 minutes, I will have worked there longer than her.”

According to Allegheny County Health Department code, restaurant workers are required to wear a hair net and plastic gloves when serving food.

Trump is also reportedly planning to attend this Sunday’s game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Jets, though his campaign would not confirm that appearance to the Washington Examiner. The team and Pittsburgh Mayor Ed Gainey’s office also declined comment.

Meanwhile, Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown has hinted at a Trump appearance in social media posts. Brown filmed himself wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat while encouraging people to vote early; he also said, “We’ll be at the stadium this Sunday, taking live votes at the tailgate.”

Ahead of Trump’s Sunday visit to Pennsylvania, Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) will hold a rally in Pittsburgh on Thursday evening.

Pennsylvania is a key swing state in the Electoral College that both Trump and Harris are seeking to win this November. Several Democrats within the state have expressed frustration and concern over Harris’s operations within Pennsylvania, with one calling her state campaign “such a mess.”
