Trump transition team issues statement about election victory and transition process – Washington Examiner

The transition team of President-elect Donald Trump issued a statement late Wednesday night after Trump’s historic victory in the 2024 U.S. presidential election. Co-Chairs Linda McMahon and Howard Lutnick offered some insight and guidance into the first steps of the incoming presidential administration.

“Since the formation of President Trump’s transition organization and our announcement as Co-Chairs in August, we have been preparing for President Trump’s next administration,” the statement read. “In the days and weeks ahead, President Trump will be selecting personnel to serve our nation under his leadership and enact policies that make the life of Americans affordable, safe, and secure.”

McMahon and Lutnick announced they would advise Trump on his selections by providing him with lists of numerous experts to choose from so he could make the best possible decisions for his administration’s team. They also touted the success of the presidential campaign and stressed that President-elect Trump’s victory was decisive.

“The American people decisively elected President Trump in a historic victory and delivered a mandate that puts the working men and women of our nation first,” read the statement. “As he chooses the best people to join his team and best policies to pursue, his transition team will ensure the implementation of President Trump’s common sense agenda starting on Day 1.”

Trump defeated Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris in Tuesday’s 2024 presidential election. He was officially declared the winner early Wednesday morning after several swing states were certified in Trump’s favor, which pushed him over the 270 electoral votes needed to win the presidency.
