Trump trolled for Bible promotion with analysis showing how many he needs to sell to raise more than Biden – Washington Examiner

Former President Donald Trump is struggling to match his presidential opponent’s fundraising figures, and a new analysis of some of his plans shows how far behind he’s falling.

While Trump has oftentimes said the Bible is his favorite book, his latest venture includes him selling it. The same LLC Trump is using to sell “God Bless the USA” Bibles for $59.99 controls his “Never Surrender” sneakers.

But the various methods outside traditional fundraising aren’t paving a golden road to a stuffed war chest.

If he was able to sell the Bibles as a part of his campaign, Trump would need to sell more than 415,000 to catch up to President Joe Biden’s fundraising, according to a CNN analysis. Similarly, Trump would need to sell more than 60,000 pairs of his sneakers to match the $25 million haul Biden brought in at a star-studded fundraiser in New York on Thursday.

Last night, Biden was joined in New York by former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton at the fundraising event. In the entire month of February, Trump raised $20 million.

Trump’s endorsement of the Bibles isn’t a campaign funding move, according to the website, which says sales are not political and funds from sales won’t be used on his campaign for president.

“GodBlessTheUSABible.com is not political and has nothing to do with any political campaign” and “is not owned, managed or controlled by Donald J. Trump, The Trump Organization, CIC Ventures LLC or any of their respective principals or affiliates,” the website said.

However, the sales can still help him continue to bolster his evangelical base.

“We must make America pray again,” Trump said on Truth Social. He announced the sale during Holy Week.

“As we lead into Good Friday and Easter, I encourage you to get a copy of the God Bless The USA Bible,” his announcement said.

Trump is expecting to raise $33 million on his campaign by the end of next week.

He is hosting an event in West Palm Beach, Florida, that is expected to have top donors for the Trump campaign in attendance. For many GOP donors who did not support Trump in the primary, this may be the first time they give the former president their financial support.

Top tickets for the fundraiser event cost $814,600. In comparison, some of the most expensive tickets to the Super Bowl cost $125,000.
