Even though Trump won Louisiana’s eight electoral votes, a small group of people upset with the outcome gathered in New Orleans. The protesters there took on the cause of police reform, worker’s rights, and immigrants’ legalization in Lafayette Square Wednesday night.

A combination of protesters from Freedom Road Socialist Organization and University of Washington Students for a Democratic Society took to the streets of Seattle to protest the two-party system. Those who appeared lamented that neither candidate suited them and instead took up the cause of Palestinians suffering in Gaza.

A similar protest broke out in San Jose, California, that was planned for Wednesday night no matter who won the election. Another protest in neighboring Berkley, California, also opposed Trump’s proposals when it comes to Israel. Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) encouraged protesters.

“Not. Going. Quietly. You’re not either. Let’s get loud. And let’s get going,” Swalwell wrote on X.

Not. Going. Quietly.

You’re not either.

Let’s get loud. And let’s get going.
