President Trump’s recently passed “Big Beautiful Bill” shatters all expectations when it comes to law‑and‑order funding.

Tucked within the sprawling legislation is a gargantuan $175 billion earmarked for immigration enforcement through 2029.

To put the scale of this funding in perspective, ICE’s post‑bill budget dwarfs the combined annual budgets of the FBI, DEA, ATF, U.S. Marshals, and Federal Prisons—and is positioned to surpass the defense spending of the vast majority of sovereign nations around the globe.

The agency, which once operated behind the scenes with limited resources, is now equipped like a Cold‑War era military force, ready to secure the homeland.

Here’s how it breaks down:

  • $46 ± billion for border wall/barriers
  • $45 billion for detention capacity expansion
  • $30 billion for ICE operations (hiring 10,000 agents)
  • $13.5 billion for state/local cost-reimbursement programs
  • $10 billion for DHS reimbursements
  • $3.3 billion for immigration court expansion and admin support
  • $5 billion for CBP facility upgrades and staffing
  • Other smaller allocations add up to the total

ICE & CBP combined annual funding rises from ~$8–10 billion/year to over $30 billion/year through fiscal 2029.

According to Newsweek, Russia’s current military budget at $126 billion (2024), even after three years of wartime escalation.
