A Texas man was charged with murder after authorities said he and a friend took turns shooting each other while wearing kevlar helmets.
Deputies responded Aug. 17 to Sean O’Donnell’s home and found Aaron Prout, a citizen of the United Kingdom, with a gunshot wound to the head, Harris County Ed Gonzalez said in an X post. Prout was taken to a hospital where he later died, and investigators arrested O’Donnell on charges of murder Sunday. Detectives initially thought Prout’s wound came from a suicide attempt, but the evidence wasn’t “adding up,” Gonzalez wrote. Investigators later determined the men had been swapping helmets and firing at each other inside the house, according to NBC News.
Hard to believe two, so-called friends, would take turns shooting at each other wearing a Kevlar helmet, inside a house in a residential neighborhood, while using a rifle.

A judge set O’Donnell’s bond at $300,000, though he remains in custody, the outlet reported. The sheriff’s office said the Violent Crime Apprehension Team helped make the arrest.
