At least 12 people were injured during a mass shooting at a campground in Edmond, Oklahoma, on Sunday evening.

Multiple victims were transported to nearby hospitals, and a lockdown was imposed at one of them.

The incident unfolded late Sunday night at the Lake Arcadia campground area in Edmond.

“This is obviously a very terrifying situation and we understand the concern from the public and those involved and we are working extremely hard to find the suspects,” Edmond police spokesperson Emily Ward said during a press conference.

Ward said there may be additional victims who were transported to hospitals by vehicle instead of ambulance.

Emergency responders, including police and medical units, rushed to the scene after reports of shots being fired at the popular camping spot.

A witness claimed that three individuals were seen fleeing into nearby woods.

Authorities secured the area and were conducting a manhunt into early Monday morning.

The Mirror reports:

There are reportedly 9 victims, and Integris Hospital is on lockdown. The scanner feed reported that officers were requested at an area hospital for fighting.

At 9:49pm the scanner reported that the possible suspects were in a white car. One suspect was reportedly Black with dreads, and another a white man in a red tank top.

Videos that appear to be taken at the scene show heavy police presence. Police have yet to confirm details of the alleged mass shooting.
