Video shows man’s car surrounded and attacked by pro-Palestinian protesters in Minneapolis

A man attempting to get around a blockade of thousands of pro-Palestinian demonstrators in Minneapolis was attacked on Sunday.

The mob of activists staged a protest in response to the war in Israel and Gaza. While they blocked the streets, a man tried to navigate his car around the crowd in his white Ford Fusion. The driver slowly edged forward to break through the crowd blocking the intersection.

An overhead drone captured video of the demonstrators chasing the driver down and attacking his vehicle as he tried to flee the area. The drone footage shows the driver attempting to drive through the crowd, and his car is repeatedly kicked and hit. He steps out to yell at the protesters as the crowd surrounds him.

Another white car in the intersection moved out of his way, and he broke free, fleeing the crowd as they hit his car with a Palestinian flag. Several people were seen attempting to block the front of his vehicle and even jumped on the car’s hood.

According to the Minneapolis Police Department, witnesses saw the vehicle driving through the crowd, but no injuries were reported. It is unclear whether the road that the demonstrators had been illegally occupying had been closed or open at the time.

Some of the rallygoers performed a “die-in,” pretending to be lying dead at an intersection in Minneapolis.

The rally was organized by the Minnesota Anti-War Committee, the state chapter of the American Muslims for Palestine, and the Students for Justice in Palestine at the University of Minnesota and demanded an end to “Israel’s bombing of Gaza.” The event in Minneapolis on Sunday was estimated to have roughly 5,000 people.
