A mob ripped through a New York City, New York, neighborhood while beating a couple and setting a car on fire early Sunday morning, according to video and witnesses.
A group of drivers allegedly sped over lawns and did donuts on South Drive and 141st Street in Malba at approximately 12:30 a.m. Sunday, according to the New York Post. New York Republican Councilwoman Vickie Paladino addressed the incident on X and criticized the New York Police Department’s (NYPD) response.
Blake Ferrer, a resident, alleged that he was attacked for asking the drivers to leave his property. “When I came out, I said, ‘Bro, you gotta get the f–k off my property,’ and that’s when it all started,” Ferrer explained.

A group of individuals can be seen conversing with a couple on a residential lawn, according to footage shared on X by New York Republican Councilwoman Vickie Paladino. The man holds a baseball bat while the woman appears to be making a phone call. The situation quickly escalates as the mob appears to beat the couple. Paladino did not identify the couple in the video.
“This is completely unacceptable, but this is the anarcho-tyranny of New York under progressive rule, where criminals operate with total impunity and law-abiding citizens are scared to defend themselves,” Paladino said in part.
A car could be seen doing a donut as a fire blazed in the background in another video shared by Paladino. Paladino alleged that a private security guard “attempted to calm the situation” but was assaulted and his vehicle set on fire. The New York Post identified him as Larry Rusch, owner of a security firm.
Rusch said he heard the drivers performing donuts and discovered 40 cars involved. He told the outlet he parked a company vehicle in the intersection to try and end the chaos.
“As soon as I did that, everyone started leaving,” Rusch said. “Then two individuals go up to the car. Somehow, they threw some kind of firework or something and lit the car up. Then melee started again.”
Rusch said it’s not uncommon for drivers to perform donuts in the area, but it hasn’t happened “to this extent” in the past. (RELATED: Two On Way To School Shoot Cow In Head For No Reason, Farmers Allege. Police Make Arrests)
Paladino said New York City must take action in her X post.
“[T]he city MUST do something to stop this lawlessness. All the speed cameras in the world do absolutely NOTHING to prevent these incidents — we need police response and the most severe consequences for these criminals, not to simply allow them to drive away after they’ve completed their mayhem,” Paladino wrote.
Paladino called the incident a “planned attack” while speaking with “Fox & Friends” on Wednesday. “This was all preempted. They were prepared to do exactly what they did.”
The NYPD told the Daily Caller they are seeking two suspects in connection with the attack. Both suspects are between 18 and 24 years old and are accused of engaging in a verbal dispute with a 50-year-old victim before punching and kicking him and fleeing the scene. The victim sustained lacerations and bruising as a result of the incident, but is in stable condition.
The NYPD told Fox News Digital it had rerouted the cop responded to a more concerning call but sent out another after discovering the incident had escalated. The agency said they will patrol the area more thoroughly.
The Daily Caller also reached out to the New York City Mayor’s office for comment.
